Newington Little League is made up of the following divisions:
Tee Ball (Boys & Girls age 4)
Introduction to baseball. Focus on fundamentals. Practice 1 time per week.
Tee Ball (Boys & Girls age 5-6)
Introduction to baseball. Focus on fundamentals of throwing, hitting, running, and fielding. All players bat each inning of 3 inning game. Practice and/or games 2 times per week.
Minors Baseball (age 7-8)
More competitive than Tee Ball, but still focused on developing skills. Mix of kid pitch, coach pitch, and machine pitch. All players bat in lineup. Practice and/or games 2 times per week.
Intermediate Baseball (age 9-11)
Scores and records are kept throughout season. Regular LL baseball rules. Practice and/or games 2 times per week.
Major Baseball (age 9-12)
Competitive play. Scores and records are kept throughout season. Regular LL baseball rules. Practice and/or games 3 times per week.
Instructional Softball (Girls age 7-9)
Focus on developing softball skills. Practice and/or games 2 times per week.
Major Softball (Girls age 9-12)
Competitive play. Scores and records are kept throughout season. Regular LL softball rules. Practice and/or games 3 times per week.
Junior Softball (Girls age 13-16)
Competitive play. Scores and records are kept throughout season. Regular softball rules. Practice and/or games 2-3 times per week in town and out of town.
Challenger
For children and young adults with various physical and/or mental challenges. Division is designed for the players to succeed in the game of baseball and enjoy all of the benefits that Little League has to offer.
Fall Baseball
In town and travel teams for children ages 7-12. Ages 13-15 play on 90-foot (big) diamond coordinated by the Newington Babe Ruth League.
